Organizing the Omega Experience

This two-hour seminar will equip you with everything you need to know to facilitate the Omega Experience in your own context as a facilitator or a live trainer.

Who Should Attend

This seminar is built for the people who will serve as site coordinators and/or live trainers of the Omega Experience Seminars and the Omega Course.

Site Coordinator Training

Leaders need to lead with the end in mind and there are a lot of details to coordinate when trying to bring about church-wide renewal. This seminar has been built to help you harness the wisdom of those who have gone before you in coordinating this experience and training others with excellence.

Participants will be equipped to understand the various resources that we have provided in the Site Coordinator and Trainer Handbook to aid you in coordinating the Omega Experience such as:

• The five step process
• Selecting your team using the team role portraits
• The Omega Experience planning calendar
• The flexibility of the material
• The planning checklist
• Options for organizing small groups

We also explore the various organizational resources included in the Site Coordinator and Trainer Resources section of the handbook including:

• The self-evaluation questionaire
• Participant sign-in sheets
• Logistics checklist
• Testimonial sheets
• Advertising posters
• Live trainer application and agreement
• Trainer and course evaluation sheets

Live Trainer Training

• The role of the live trainer
• Preparing to teach each session
• Tips for training
• Working through the material including:

– Pacing yourself
– Using reflective questions
– Using video clips
– Using the objectives chart to prepare
– Using break point questions to prepare
– Checking for understanding

• Daily devotionals and homework
• Feedback and evaluation
• Follow-up and extension
• Trainer qualifications and commitments

We also examine the features contained within the session outlines and trainer tips section of the handbook including:

• Outline and sample time frames
• Trainer notes and God sightings

Requirements of Live Trainers

• Attend live or complete all five seminars included in the Leading the Omega Experience Conference
• Take the Omega Course yourself as a participant on DVD (completing the daily devotionals and homework which builds your personal growth plan)
• Personally engaging in mentoring relationships as both a mentee and mentor.
