Patience in Discipleship Part 10 - The Great World within You

Discipleship and the Promises - Part 12

Have you ever thought, "Well, I'll be content if I just get past this particular difficulty or task or day or person..." Can we ever get to a point where we can take just one hour and make it gloriously rich? Can you imagine doing that hour after hour after hour? Discipleship and Character - Part 8 - The Reciprocal Turning

Many Christians, in their struggles with character-related issues, find that they fall into a cycle of fall/confess/fall/confess – to the point where they are depressed when they consider what God must of think of them.  They might even become fatalistic about it, assuming they have a certain character flaw in the same way that another person has a facial disfigurement.

The great paradox of our era is that while incomes have risen over the past few decades, so have rates of social dysfunction and emotional depression. We are quite reasonable to seek to improve our lot in life, but we have no means of counterbalancing the forces of social isolation that more than offset the value of material benefits.
