America Founded by God Fearing Individuals with Judeo-Christian Beliefs

In my travels I often hear America talked about as the greatest nation in history. The American Experiment sure hasn’t been perfect, but it was given a good foundation to build on by its founders. These men and women were God-fearing Christians who understood the need for a free and democratic society. America is still far from perfect even though America is a Republic with a representative government, has checks and balances to keep us accountable, and a system of justice to correct wrongs that have been perpetrated. If we are not humble and submitted to God’s purposes we could be used as a great instrument for evil in the world. While speaking to a corporate crowd recently about our new book Fired Up Or Burned Out, I had the opportunity to talk about the concepts of Being and Doing and how they relate to one another. Every time I give this talk and come to the part where I talk about how the corporate world trains them to function as “human doings” rather than “human beings,” it always gets a big reaction and I receive a lot of follow-up clarifying questions. It is as if they know that something significant has just been said, but they don’t know how to change their lives or their corporate culture enough to do anything about it. A supporter of my ministry gave me 4 tickets to the US open the other day, so I took my boys and my mother-in law. We watched the 188th ranked player in the world beat the #1 ranked player in the world. It was really something to watch. The #1 ranked player had a look of entitlement and expectation about her.
