America Founded by God Fearing Individuals with Judeo-Christian Beliefs PDF  | Print |  E-mail

In my travels I often hear America talked about as the greatest nation in history. The American Experiment sure hasn’t been perfect, but it was given a good foundation to build on by its founders. These men and women were God-fearing Christians who understood the need for a free and democratic society. America is still far from perfect even though America is a Republic with a representative government, has checks and balances to keep us accountable, and a system of justice to correct wrongs that have been perpetrated.   If we are not humble and submitted to God’s purposes we could be used as a great instrument for evil in the world. Look at what some of our greatest leaders had to say about America’s need for God.

“It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor.”    George Washington

In 1 Peter 4:1-2 the Apostle Peter takes dead aim at what is hindering so many Christians around the world from making progress in maturity and growth towards Christlikeness. Verse 1 says it all. "Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin."

Why Life Spring Network?

Most pastors of growing Churches do a great job of creating integrated strategies and programs to attract people to join the Family of God and worship Him as their savior.

This is what they are called and gifted to do.

Reflections on Being and Doing

While speaking to a corporate crowd recently about our new book Fired Up Or Burned Out, I had the opportunity to talk about the concepts of Being and Doing and how they relate to one another.

Every time I give this talk and come to the part where I talk about how the corporate world trains them to function as “human doings” rather than “human beings,” it always gets a big reaction and I receive a lot of follow-up clarifying questions. It is as if they know that something significant has just been said, but they don’t know how to change their lives or their corporate culture enough to do anything about it. I think that it is one of those statements of truth that people feel deeply, but don’t know what to do about it!

The Power of Focus

A supporter of my ministry gave me 4 tickets to the US open the other day, so I took my boys and my mother-in law. We watched the 188th ranked player in the world beat the #1 ranked player in the world. It was really something to watch. The #1 ranked player had a look of entitlement and expectation about her. She expected to win and was not that focused. On the contrary, her opponent showed laser like focus.
