The Life Spring Statement Of Faith

1. We believe in the traditional Christian faith and belief as expressed in the Apostles’ Creed.

2. We believe that the Bible is uniquely God-inspired, infallible (2 Timothy 2:16), and the final authority on all matters on which it bears.

3. We believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - each possessing all the attributes of deity.

4. We believe that God created humans to have fellowship with Him, but they defied God by sinfully going their own way. Since then, all human beings are born with a sinful nature (Romans 3:23).

5. We believe, as a result, we need God’s saving grace to end our alienation from God, that salvation comes only through God’s grace, and that God’s grace must be received personally by faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8,9).

6. We believe that Jesus Christ, second person of the Trinity, lived a sinless life on earth and voluntarily paid for our sin by dying on the cross as our substitute, that this accomplished salvation for all who receive grace by trusting in Him alone, that He rose from the dead and is the only mediator between us and God, and that He will return to earth to consummate history.

7. We believe that, as the Scriptures urge, those who believe in Christ as Savior are to be baptized in water (Acts 2:38-41, Matthew 28:19-20). Baptism is an outward sign of an inward reality and is not an infusion of grace.

8. We believe that the Holy Spirit draws sinners to Christ and equips believers for personal growth and service to the church, that the church’s role is to glorify God and serve those in need, that at the end, everyone will experience bodily resurrection and judgment, and that only believers will enjoy eternal fellowship with God.

9. We believe that life was not meant to be done alone, that God calls believers to join a local expression of the family of God (fellowship) and commit to following all of the commands of Christ with them as a family, and that each person should use their God given gifts to build one another up to maturity in Christ (1 Peter 4:8-11).

10. We believe that these local families of God (fellowships) although autonomous in their decision making and accountability before God are called to cooperate together for the advancement of the Kingdom of God (church).
